Here it is and ain’t it a beauty…
I never would have thought that I would ever be a Mac user, but now I can’t ever see myself turning back.

I need to be more diligent about updating this place. So, here goes:
For Xmas, Jessi got me a $100 gift card for Barnes and Noble. With that, I got around a dozen books that I plan on reading over the course the year (if not sooner).
I’m starting with this one (click pic for details from B&N):
It’s a pretty cool detective novel set in the 25th century. It’s the kind of story I like - one with “big ideas”. Sci-Fi is about the only place you can find books like that now. In this one, death is almost non-existent. A tiny chip at the base of your skull can record your thoughts, dreams, consciousness, etc. and be installed into new bodies if you meet an untimely demise. How cool would that be? In this book, a former military officer (Takeshi Kovacs) has his chip pulled out of the penal storage system and inserted into a new body to find out why there was an attempt on a wealthy, 300+ year old man. The cops say it was suicide - the man says “no way”.
Any “big idea” novels you I like? Let me know in the comments.

Phil Hendrie (center) used to be funny. Now he’s a douche. He bailed out on a wildly successful radio career because he got a taste of the TV sitcom good life. Well, it turned out that the sitcom he was on, “Teachers“, was utter crap and never made it past six episodes. Phil said a big F-you to radio, then he literally flipped the bird at his fans at sweetfeatheryjesus.com (nobody insulted your family, Phil, NOBODY) and rode off to what he thought were greener pastures. His TV career tanked and he was forced to crawl back to radio. At first, he said he was done with doing characters and would stick to political talk. That changed real fast too. My theory is that he realized that no one cared about his opinion - they wanted to hear his funny voices in creative situations interacting with unsuspecting callers. So, he started trickling his old schtick out on his new radio show. Unfortunately, it’s not nearly as funny as it once was.
Phil burned bridges. Way to go, douche. This photoshop was my attempt at demonstrating the kind of people who must be giving him career advise - paint huffers.
